The Intel Arc B570 is one of the 2 Arc Battlemage GPU that Intel revealed back in December 2024. Reviews of the GPU are now here, and the card appears to be much slower than the Arc B580, while matching the RTX 4060 at 1440p which means the price-performance ratio might not be the best here.

After months of rumors and leaks, Intel finally unveiled the Arc Battlemage B580 and B570 desktop GPUs in early December 2024. These are basically entry-level gaming GPUs with the Arc B580 set to compete against the AMD RX 7600 XT and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 cards, while the Arc B570 with its cut-down die is meant to be slightly more affordable.

The Arc B580 was released first on December 13 at a starting price of $249 with 4 GB more RAM, a much lower price tag than the RTX 4060, and considerably better performance. For instance, our review of the Intel Arc B580 shows that Intel’s debut Xe2 card beats the RX 7600 and the RTX 4060 by a double-digit margin. So, the Arc B580 is a pretty awesome budget GPU if you can find it at MSRP.

When it comes to Intel’s second Battlemage GPU, the Arc B570, reviews of the GPU have now dropped and, overall, the GPU is a pretty good performer. However, Intel appears to have priced the card way too close to the Arc B580, resulting in iffy performance/price proposition vs the Arc B570’s bigger brother.

Before we discuss the performance of the Arc B570, it is important to mention that the AIB model on display is an ASRock Challenger OC with a 100 MHz overclock. This undoubtedly affects the performance of the GPU. Moreover, the ASRock Challenger Arc B570 has an MSRP of $229 or $10 more than the official Arc B570 starting price.

Intel Arc B570 performance

Linus Tech Tips' sister channel, ShortCircuit, has now dropped a short review of the Arc B570 which sheds light on the performance of the GPU. While the review doesn’t go into a whole lot of detail, the test results revealed are enough to give users an idea about how capable the Arc B570 is.

At 1080p, the Arc B570 is hot on the heels of the RTX 4060 per gaming testing done by LTT’s lab. The difference between the average FPS of the Arc B570 (71 FPS) and the RTX 4060 (76 FPS) stands at a meagre 7%. This difference is much bigger in the case of the Arc B580 where Intel’s more powerful card delivers an 11 FPS or 15.5% increase in average FPS.

Moving on to 1% Lows at 1080p, the Arc B570 is 11% slower (7 FPS) than the RTX 4060 and 14% slower (9 FPS) than the Arc B580.

At 1440p, the overall situation improves for the Arc B570, as the GPU is reportedly on par with the RTX 4060 in both average FPS and 1% Lows. The Arc B580 beats the Arc B570 by a 15% margin in average FPS and 14% in 1% Lows.

Finally, in ray tracing at 1080p, the Arc B570 is no match for the Arc B580 and the RTX 4060. Here, the RTX 4060 is ahead of the Arc B570 by 16% in average FPS and 20% in 1% Lows.

Overall, the Intel Arc B570, even with a 100 MHz overclock, appears to be noticeably slower than the Arc B580 in both rasterization and ray tracing workloads. While things do improve for the GPU at 1440p and the card can match the RTX 4060, the Arc B570 is not a 1440p card as most gamers will use the board for 1080p gaming.

So, how’s the B570 looking overall? While we are yet to review an Arc B570, the GPU looks bleak as compared to the Arc B580 as the latter is faster, has more VRAM, and is only slightly more expensive. That being said, the B570 tested is still faster than an A770.

Let us also point out that ShortCircuit’s Arc B570 review is just one of many. Therefore, we advise gamers to look at a bunch of different reviews before making a final decision.
