Huawei has officially confirmed that the Nova 15 series will be unveiled in China on December 22. The Chinese tech giant has just published images of the three smartphones, each available in four colors. The top-of-the-line model, the Huawei Nova 15 Ultra, features a slim metal frame, which has a matte finish on the white and black versions, while the blue and green models have a glossy finish.
The latter two variants also boast a heavily textured back, which should improve grip. Perhaps the most striking feature, however, is the exceptionally large camera module, reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 17 Pro. Huawei has placed the three cameras in a circular arrangement that protrudes slightly from the casing, rather than having each camera protrude individually like on Apple's models.
The second ring not only houses the LED flash, but also two additional sensors, the function of which are currently unknown. The Nova 15 Ultra comes with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. The flat display on the front is unusual primarily because of a pill-shaped punch-hole with two selfie cameras, which may be for 3D facial recognition.
The Huawei Nova 15 Pro omits one of the two additional sensors in the camera module but also features three rear cameras and two selfie cameras. Like the base model, the Huawei Nova 15 Pro is available in white, black, purple or green, and with either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
Huawei Nova 15 forgoes dual selfie camera and triple camera
The more affordable Huawei Nova 15 does without the second selfie camera and the extra-large camera module; the base model apparently only has two rear cameras. No further details about the specifications of the Huawei Nova 15 series are currently available.
