Huawei Nova 16s Pro is launching soon with 200 MP camera and colorful design
Huawei is apparently planning a global launch of the Nova 16 Pro, albeit with a few adjustments. Huawei has published the first teaser images on the global Huawei Mobile X account, confirming that the so-called Huawei Nova 16s Pro will also be released outside of China.
Although Huawei has not yet confirmed a launch date, it’s possible that the smartphone will be officially unveiled as part of the "Chase the Wild" launch event on September 2, 2026, alongside the Huawei Watch GT 7 (Pro) and the Huawei Watch D3. The design of the Huawei Nova 16s Pro matches the look of the Nova 16 Pro exactly, and it also features the same 200-megapixel main camera. It remains unclear what changes Huawei will make to the device’s specifications.
It is possible that the 7,000 mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging will be downgraded, as is often the case with Huawei’s international models. The removal of the 5G modem is also a possibility, given that Huawei continues to be subject to U.S. sanctions. In addition to the 200 MP f/1.8 main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, the Huawei Nova 16 Pro also features a 50 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 50 MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom, and a 50 MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle front camera.
Huawei uses its in-house HiSilicon Kirin 9010S ARM chip, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage. The 6.84-inch display is based on an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 2,856 x 1,320 pixels, and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. Surprisingly, the Huawei Nova 16 Pro is only IP65-certified, meaning it is not completely waterproof.
