Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for its Bluetooth Speaker Magnetic Edition, a compact speaker that doubles as a magnetic phone stand and can automatically turn on when attached to a phone thanks to a Hall sensor.

Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for a new Bluetooth speaker, the Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Magnetic Edition, through its official Weibo account and Mi.com store. The device doubles as a speaker and a magnetic phone stand, using a Hall sensor to detect when a phone is attached and power on automatically without requiring a button press. It comes in two colorways, dark gray and light brown.

The speaker houses a single 1.5-inch full-range driver rated at 3 W, with a frequency response of 200 Hz–20 kHz (-10 dB) and a neodymium magnet for phone attachment. It connects via Bluetooth 6.0 and supports the AAC and SBC codecs. Two units can be paired for TWS stereo playback, and up to 10 units can be chained together via a BIS multi-speaker connection for larger gatherings. The speaker has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating.

The battery capacity is listed as 650 mAh (typical), and the battery is charged via USB-C at 5 W, charger and cable are not included in the box. A metal ring handle doubles as a stand and carrying loop, while a bottom RGB light ring syncs with audio playback, with different colors indicating statuses such as pairing, low battery, or a multi-unit connection. Xiaomi notes that the iPhone 12 and later models support direct magnetic attachment.

Pre-orders opened on August 27 at 10:00 Beijing time through Xiaomi's official channels in China. Xiaomi lists a suggested retail price of ¥199 (about $28), with a launch price of ¥149 (about $21) available during a promotional period from September 1 to September 30. The speaker is currently confirmed only for the Chinese market, and Xiaomi has not announced plans for a global release.
