Confirmed as early as last October, it wasn't until this week that the wallet-friendly MediaPad M3 and T3 would finally be shipping to consumers in North America. The four models in question include the 8-inch MediaPad T3 8 and MediaPad M3 Lite 8 and 10-inch MediaPad T3 10 and MediaPad M3 Lite 10.
The lower-end T3 family is distinguished from the mid-range M3 family by the choice of Qualcomm SoCs, cameras, display resolution, and chassis design. Both of the T3 tablets, for example, carry identical 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8917 SoCs, the same 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 2 MP front + 5 MP rear cameras, 4800 mAh battery, and 16 GB eMMC storage despite their sizes differences. Meanwhile, both of the M3 tablets will each carry a 1.4 GHz octa-core Qualcomm MSM8940 SoC, 1080p display, and 8 MP front and rear cameras with auto-focus. Unlike the two M3 models, however, the larger 10-inch MediaPad M3 Lite will have 802.11ac connectivity and a larger 6660 mAh battery.
Additional specifications can be found on their respective product pages below. The MediaPad T3 8, T3 10, M3 Lite 8, and M3 Lite 10 are retailing for $140, $160, $200, and $250 USD, respectively. Their availability in North America is notable as Huawei has been aggressively pushing its products in the US with the Honor smartphones, Matebook laptops and detachables, and affordable MediaPad tablets.
