More rumors about the Huawei MateBook X 2020 premium laptop have started appearing, including an apparent choice of four colors for the device: interstellar blue, frost silver, mountain daisy (purple), and cherry blossom (pink). The device, which is expected to be released on August 19, apparently features a 3:2 13-inch 3K display that can cover 100% of the sRGB color space. The MateBook X 2020 could weigh around 1.05 kg, have a thickness of 12.5 mm, and it is supposedly coming with a hidden webcam.
As for the components, it has been reported that the Huawei MateBook X 2020 will offer users a choice between Intel Core i5 and i7 processors from the 10th Gen Comet Lake family. For graphics processing, an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU has also been mentioned. A healthy amount of 16 GB RAM is expected to be onboard, which will be joined by a 512 GB SSD. We already reported about the intriguing FreeTouch trackpad and users can expect to find two USB Type-C ports and dual speakers with Dolby support in the MateBook X 2020 laptop.
Huawei has seemingly chosen to opt for a novel fanless design for the MateBook X 2020, as opposed to the cooling solution that was selected for the Huawei MateBook X Pro that featured a fan and a network of copper heat pipes (see image below). In the Huawei MateBook X 2020 laptop, the heat pipes are apparently connected to the screen hinges, thus utilizing the latter as a form of radiator for the excess heat. It remains to be seen if this will be an optimal decision for the MateBook X 2020’s thermal development. According to one source, the Huawei laptop won’t be cheap but should remain under 10,000 yuan (US$1,438).
