Huawei Mate 9 leak: Pictures, pricing and planned configurations
Thanks to two recent leaks we can not only show you high quality pictures of this year's Huawei Mate 9 phablet in all available colors but also give you information about the configurations Huawei has been planning including pricing information, which might still be subject to last minute changes however. Former GFXBench entries already leaked vital information about the Mate 9's expected specifications. The 5.9 to 6 inch display of the Mate 9 might have Full-HD resolution, the processor will be a new generation Kirin processor, which will most likely be named Kirin 960. It will be a 2.6 Ghz octa-core processor, according to the benchmark listings.
If yesterday's leak is anything to go by, there will be three configurations of the Mate 9 differing by RAM, storage and color options. The cheapest version will set you back $480 and give you 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The middle option would come with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. That would cost you $550. Last but not least, $700 would buy you a Mate 9 with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage. Only the latter would be available in all six colors: black, white, gold, brown, grey and rose. The middle option lacks the black color option and the entry level configuration will only be available in white, gold and grey.
The high quality renders reveal a dual-12 megapixel camera with Leica branding, most likely in a similar black and white and color combination like the dual-lens camera on the Huawei P9. The dual-lens combination will be able to record 4K video. The front camera will feature a 8 megapixel lens. There will be dual-sim and single-sim variants of the Mate 9 according to yesterday's leak. We suspect, that Huawei is planning on releasing the Mate 9 with Android 7. Huawei may have included OIS on both of the Mate 9's dual lenses and might support quick charging via a proprietary new Huawei charging technology called SuperCharge. We expect the Mate 9 to be officially revealed early November.
