The Honor X6b Plus is a new smartphone that’s clearly not a high-end device, but it does come with a 90Hz display. The Chinese company also advertises that the display is readable in direct sunlight, although that's more of a marketing claim.

Honor has introduced a new smartphone called the X6b Plus. There are no exact details regarding its release in Europe, as the device might never launch outside of China. Despite the "Plus" in the name, this is more of an entry-level smartphone. It weighs 6.77 oz, is about 0.33 inches thick and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, which is a processor that’s pretty limited both in terms of performance and connectivity.

While this cheap Honor smartphone supports two SIM cards, the cellular modem integrated into the chipset does not support 5G, which is a major caveat in 2025. The 6.56-inch screen has a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, which is not particularly high either. However, the TFT panel does offer a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 780 nits. For comparison, many modern AMOLED screens often provide more than 1000 nits. Thanks to an always-on feature, the time and some other info can be displayed all the time.

Although the Honor X6b Plus is not a rugged smartphone, it should offer a certain amount of drop protection including an SGS certification, which should prevent serious damage from certain heights. The handset also sports a 50MP main camera, while the front camera only offers 5MP. Moreover, the 5100mAh battery is neither particularly big nor can it be charged extremely quickly, even though the maximum charging speed of 35 watts is respectable.

Additional features include a fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, compass and an ambient light sensor. In addition to the USB Type-C port, a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack is also onboard. Depending on the model variant, the Honor X6b Plus comes with a case and a pre-installed screen protector. Lastly, a charger and USB cable are included in the box.
