Honor is rumoured to be prepping an endurance king in the upcoming Honor Power 2. According to recent leaks, the new smartphone is packing a massive 10,000 mAh battery for longer screen times.
As if the battery size is not impressive enough, Honor is expected to fit the humongous battery into an ultra-slim 8 mm chassis. This will cement the phone’s place among the slimmest consumer-grade phones with huge batteries.
If the reports are true, the second iteration of the Honor Power series will be a massive upgrade over its predecessor. The inaugural version boasts an 8,000 mAh battery, meaning Honor boosted the battery capacity by 25 percent while retaining the same thickness.
The leak also indicates that Honor's internal optimizations will improve the Power 2 charging speed and energy efficiency.
Next-gen MediaTek performance
At the heart of the Honor Power 2 is reportedly the MediaTek Dimensity 8500. The yet-to-be-revealed chip is expected to deliver midrange efficiency and 5G performance in a single package.
We are also made to believe the upcoming Power will feature a 1.5k TPS flat display with an embedded optical fingerprint sensor. Users can expect durability and sharp visuals from this combination.
Other features include a drop-resistant body design for increased reliability. There are no performance benchmark results yet, but the lovechild of a 10,000 mAh battery and a Dimensity 8500 chipset will be near the top of the pecking order of Android endurance heavyweights.
Carrying forward flagship features
The Honor Power debuted with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The list of top features included 66 W fast charging and satellite connectivity. It is safe to assume that all these, and perhaps more, will find their way into the Power 2.
Honor has not revealed a launch date yet. However, the Honor 2 is reportedly set to hit the market early in 2026. If all the leaks are correct, this mobile device could become the new standard in ultra-thin, big-battery, and durable smartphones.
