Are two better than one? The key feature of the Honor 6+ is the dual-camera of the smartphone. HTC tried this in the past as well and failed miserably, but the Chinese do a better job. The 6+ also convinces with a good set of features as well as great battery runtimes.

Honor 6X
With the latest addition to the sub-brand Honor, the Honor 6X, Huawei has further secured its position as one of the world’s best budget phone makers. The 6X may share some similarities with its predecessor, but it has a more refined design and a few hardware improvements. The 6X retains the metal unibody design and the corners of the device are rounded off well, which results in a far more ergonomic feel. The power button is on the right-hand side of the device, while the volume rocker sits just above it. On the left, the device houses the dual-SIM card slot and a microSD card tray. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is located at the top right of the 6X, giving it a good position for listening to music on the go while keeping the device upright in the pocket. On the bottom, there is the microUSB port, flanked by two grills – one for the speaker unit and the other the microphone. Moving around the back of the 6X, a dual camera is perched above the fingerprint sensor. It is worth noting that phones at this price point do not usually come with the added security of a fingerprint scanner, but the 6X does and it feels responsive. Apart from unlocking the device, the fingerprint scanner can be used to capture photos and videos, answer calls and pull down the notification tab by swiping down. The most interesting feature of the 6X is its dual camera setup, featuring a 12 MP primary shooter paired with a 2 MP aperture lens. The latter allows for a large bokeh effect - to focus shots on objects in the foreground and blur the background of each photo. The 6X is probably the first mid-range phone to have this feature. It also has an 8 MP selfie camera at the phone for snapping selfies and video calls. For the display, the 6X sports a 5.5-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution. The screen’s brightness allows for great outdoor visibility and has good viewing angles. Considering the price of the device, there is nothing outstanding with the display, and it has no problems providing good experience when browsing the web, playing games and watching videos. As for the speakers, they are sufficient for listening to music and watching videos. However, because they are located at the bottom of the device, it is easy for the sounds to get muffled by the user’s hand when handling the device in landscape orientation. At the core of the device, there is the octa-core Kirin 655 processor chip, 3 GB of RAM. This is an impressive setup for a mid-range phone. Everything is fluid and responsive as expected in everyday use, and the performance runs smoothly even when handling graphically-intensive games. The 6X comes with 32 GB of internal storage. The storage capacity can be expanded by up to 128 GB via microSD card. On the software side, the 6X gets the Emotion UI 4.1, which is built on top of Android 6 Marshmallow. Curiously, unlike a lot of other Android devices, the 6X doesn’t include an app drawer. The 6X runs on a 3340 mAh battery, which is quite sizeable since it is only powering a FHD screen. Thanks to the efficiency of the Kirin 655 processor, the device drains very little power when in standby mode. Even with constant use, the device can last for a long duration before requiring to be charged. It is good to know that more reasonably priced smartphones are starting to feature more and more features that are usually only supported by flagship devices. Good and affordable. Although Honor's 6X does not cost much, it is a serious competition for considerably more expensive smartphones in terms of configuration and performance. It is even equipped with a dual-camera. Our review reveals how the Android phone of Huawei's subsidiary Honor fares in our tests.

At $249, the Huawei Honor 6X is $50 less than the Moto G5 Plus and $150 less than the Axon 7. For the extra $50, the G5 Plus gets you virtually stock Android and compatibility with every major carrier. If you can afford to spend more, the ZTE Axon 7 has a sharper display, a more powerful processor, better connectivity, and high-resolution audio. Both are Editors' Choice winners. For the price, however, the Honor 6X is a solid buy, especially if you're a fan of its unique camera abilities.

Sporting a mostly metal design, a fingerprint reader and nifty dual-rear cameras, the Honor 6X has features that you used to be able to find only on phones twice this price. It offers pretty decent performance and above-average battery life. Unless you're a real power user, the 6X feels just as snappy as phones costing hundreds more.

My overall experience with the Huawei Honor 6X could be described as surprising. I did not expect to enjoy using it as much as I did, especially after I got my app drawer back. There is a delightful mix of quality, budget-friendly hardware, software that is mindful of resource management and style that makes this $250 phone just delightful to use and comfortable to purchase.

Overall, the Honor 6X is a pretty good smartphone, offering access to Honor and Huawei’s mobile features like wide aperture mode and light painting and also supporting VR or 360 video. It is more than good enough for the normal Malaysian user who wants a piece of the action that Honor is offering with their upper midrange Honor 8 but don’t need the prettier design aspects or extra camera stabilization functions especially at its current price of RM1049 (RRP RM1199). Is it worth that price tag? Yes, especially if you're looking to explore bokeh shots, light painting and VR but don't have the budget for a more expensive phone or DSLR.

The Huawei Honor 6X has two things that the Galaxy S8 does not: dual rear cameras and a fast, accurate rear-mounted fingerprint reader that's actually easy to reach. (Samsung's Galaxy S8 has a single camera lens on the back and awkwardly puts its fingerprint reader to the left of the camera.)

If you can forgive the faults of the software, which might improve once the update to EMUI 5.0 and Android Nougat comes, the Honor 6X is a great value buy. On the hardware and camera performance alone this handset offers a lot of bang for your buck, positioning the 6X, even with its subpar Android skin, as one of the best budget smartphones on the market.

I personally felt like the Honor 6X was a vast improvement over the Honor 5X and that made it much more enjoyable to use. With a price point of $250 it hovers under some of the stronger mid-rangers such as the OnePlus 3T or Axon 7 but that’s good. If you are interested in a ton of features and not spending a ton of cash the Honor 6X is a nice phone to utilize.

For all its looks and features, the Honor 6X remains a budget Android handset. It can’t beat the performance of high-end smartphones, and that will be a deal breaker for some power users. However, for those who want a low price tag on an unlocked smartphone, the Honor 6X offers reasonable performance, an attractive design, a competent camera and great battery life. The Honor 6X is likely going to be at the top of many budget lists.

Honor could have phoned it in on the design and materials, kept it simple, and priced it in the same range or even lower than its previous model. In reality, it decided to up the ante on its “budget” line to increase the pressure on its competition and also improve the experience for its consumers. The device offers great construction, good performance, long battery life, a dual camera that can take good photos.

The Honor 6X, like the Honor 5X is not a bad phone. In fact, it's quite good. But it is brought down by some tough competition. Honor's new phone has an all-metal body, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 1080p screen, a very capable 8-core processor, plenty of storage (which is also expandable), a guaranteed update to Android Nougat, a dual-camera system on the rear, DTS audio support and a 3,340mAh battery powering the whole thing. And it starts at just Rs 12,999.

The Honor 6X carries on the same philosophy that the company introduced with the 5X: create a smartphone with a satisfying price-to-value ratio (also known as "bang for buck" ratio). The Honor 6X makes some compromises, perhaps not all that power users would appreciate, but EMUI should offer enough customization and control to satisfy these users.

Overall, the Honor 6X is a good mid-range smartphones with several impressive aspects such as dual rear cameras along with several camera features, impressive battery life and a solid build quality that you rarely see on a smartphone in the price range. Overall, the Honor 6X is a good mid-range smartphones with several impressive aspects such as dual rear cameras along with several camera features, impressive battery life and a solid build quality that you rarely see on a smartphone in the price range. It also has a fast fingerprint sensor and the 2.5D curved glass screen offers a premium look. Sure, there are a few kinks like hybrid dual SIM support but perhaps those are things that you can live with considering the pros that the smartphone offers.

With the 6X, Honor has once again proved that it has the ability to make superior camera phones. I have no doubts about Honor’s claims. But the company cannot sell a phone just on the basis of the camera alone. A display is equally important, so is the software.

Honor’s brand image is clearly more important than the products it creates. The 6X is a fine phone that doesn’t really use what it has very well. It will get the job done – but nothing more.

The Honor 6X is yet another dependable option to consider, just like its predecessor. However, it doesn't really offer any standout feature that would make you want to rush out and buy it. Pricing starts at Rs. 12,999 for the version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which isn't bad considering the specifications on offer. However, the version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs Rs. 15,999 which feels like less of a bargain. We wish Honor had paid attention to finer details like Wi-Fi 802.11ac support, a USB Type-C connector, true dual-SIM functionality like the 5X, and perhaps a simpler look and feel to EMUI. The dual-camera setup feels gimmicky and unnecessary, and low-light performance could have been much better.

We think the Honor 6X is one of the best camera phones available in this segment, and at Rs 12,999 for the base 3 GB/ 32 GB model, offers a fair deal of camera muscle. The 4 GB/ 64 GB edition at Rs 15,999 might strike some as a trifle on the expensive side when you consider the Coolpad Cool 1 offers dual cameras at a lower price and of course there is now the looming shadow of the Lenovo Z2 Plus, whose Snapdragon 820 goodness comes in a 3 GB/ 32 GB edition comes for Rs 14,999 now. There’s also the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for those who prefer great battery life with decent performance.

The Honor 6X produces some really great shots in different conditions. It definitely takes nice pictures in sufficient light and takes some above average and average shots in low light conditions in terms of details. The camera seems snappy enough but takes a lot of time to process images. Although the company is betting heavily on the hardware when it comes to the camera, but we think it is the software which binds it all together. The software as a whole needs some finishing around the corner as we think the lagging in the Gallery app and the processing time should be reduced if not eliminated. That said, we think the Honor 6X definitely has an edge over other smartphones in this price segment in the camera department. We do not know the final price of the device but if it is in the vicinity of Rs 15,000 as is being rumored, then it definitely is the best camera in that section. Hands down. Its hardware stings like a bee, even though its software sometimes does not quite float like a butterfly…

Huawei’s Honor 6X is one of the best bets you can get at this price. The dual-camera set up at the back helps the phone stand out against others whereas the performance is not an issue as well. While the phone hits most of the pillars of a good budget smartphone, we still feel that there is room for improvement in aspects like UI and Audio output. Fortunately, the device will get a UI upgrade with Android Nougat soon and we can’t complain much for the audio at this price. As the final verdict, if you want a complete smartphone for a low price, Honor 6X can just be the right device for you right now.

The Honor 6X is a terrific little phone – I say ‘little’ despite the ‘phablet’-class 5.5” screen, because it’s still very manageable in the hand, thanks to the thin bezels. And ‘little’ because its ambitions don’t rise into flagship territory. Yet it somehow manages to do everything one would want a smartphone to do, with surprisingly little fuss, zero complaining, and it comes in at a third the price of a Galaxy S7 edge.

The 6X very much lives up to the expectations of an Honor phone: a surprisingly inexpensive but feature-packed handset with a couple of little extras thrown in, namely the dual camera and smart fingerprint sensor. It's not a flagship replacement, but if you're in the market for something that'll keep you connected without breaking the bank - and looking good - the Honor 6X is a great choice for your new phone.

Note there is a more expensive 64GB version, which also includes 4GB of RAM to the 3GB of the £225 version, but with a microSD slot in the phone there isn't a killer reason to spend the extra money. We should note that you should be able to pre-order it via Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, and Honor’s website by the time you read this. Honor also told us that they’ll be having a ‘flash sale’ on January 10 that will have the phone priced at just $199. Sounds like you’ll want to wait a week to order one, but it is listed on Amazon already. Not a bad price for a Smartphone that is unlocked and ready to work on the major GSM networks. You don’t get super high performance or water proofing, but if you can snag one of these for $199 you likely won’t be disappointed.

At $249, the Huawei Honor 6X sits between the less expensive Moto G4 and the pricier Axon 7. For $60 less, the G4 gets you virtually stock Android and compatibility with every major carrier. But the Honor 6X has a nicer build, faster performance, and cooler camera capabilities. If you can afford to spend more, an extra $150 can get you the Editors' Choice-winning ZTE Axon 7, which has a sharper display, a more powerful processor, better connectivity, and high-resolution audio. For where it falls in the middle, however, the Honor 6X is a solid buy, and a promising start to the year.

Buyers are at risk of believing a little too much in the Honor 6X’s amazing-sounding specs, but with a solid camera and good screen there are only two things to put you off. First, the EmotionUI software won’t be to all tastes, and the weak graphics chip means the phone struggles with some top-end Android games unless you lower the visual quality a bit.

Considering the price, there’s a lot going on here that should make the Honor 6X a tempting prospect. Yet, I don’t feel like the devices churned out by Honor are matching its millennial and teen focussed image it’s spouting. The design is dull and predicable, the software old and it’s missing soon to be required features like USB-C.

Honor 6C
The Honor 6C is a compact but powerful smartphone that tries to become an interesting alternative for those looking for a cheap mobile guarantee. It is a recipe that attempts to replicate Honor, Huawei's subsidiary focused on the younger audience to conquer the digital natives. The Honor 6C is focuses on mobility for those who prefer a compact design, no ultra-large screens or exaggerated dimensions. It happens to many large smartphones that they are difficult to handle with one hand and can be a headache if a user intends to save them in the pocket. The design of the Honor 6C is a significant step forward compared to the previous generation of this family, which definitely dismissed the plastic. The Honor 6C has a metallic unibody design that seduces the eye and is attractive in the hand thanks to its curved lines, which also make it quite ergonomic. The Honor 6C has a 5.0-inch screen with HD resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels), which may seem quite disappointing at this point since it is the year 2017, it seems reasonable to demand Full HD resolution within the mid-range. However, Its brightness level allows it to be used outdoors without excessive problems and the reproduction of colors is quite accurate. The Honor 6C has the main camera of 13 megapixels in the back with a fairly discreet aperture (f/2.2) that has surprised for being able to achieve good results outdoors under favorable lighting conditions. In addition, the phase detection autofocus system (PDAF) works well and is reasonably fast. At the software level, a user also has other ways to get more out of the camera, such as panoramic photography or HDR mode. The front camera of the Honor 6C has 5 megapixels and offers remarkable results, especially outdoors. Huawei seems determined to bet on the processors of own manufacture, which are already in the high-end products in the company. The smartphone works with a Snapdragon 435, a processor that is also found in other mid-range devices like the ZTE Blade V8 and the Xiaomi Redmi 4X. 3 GB of RAM is available on this smartphone. The graphics section presents the Adreno 505 GPU, which is powerful enough to run some game. Thanks to the cut in the resolution of the panel, it does not suffer too much even in powerful game titles. The Honor 6C battery has a capacity of 3,020 mAh, a very high figure in view of the device's compact size. The battery is charged through the microUSB port and does not support fast charging technology. The Honor 6C also has multiple sensors, which are an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, an ambient light sensor, and a compass. Like all Honor devices, this one aims to serve the budget market with sufficiently high specs to give a good smartphone experience. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Honor 6A
The Honor 6A is Honor’s attempt to repeat its success in the affordable smartphone range. On first impressions, the Honor 6A is not going to overthrow the reigning champ, but it still seems great value and once again shows user don’t need to spend big bucks to get a decent phone. At around 150 g it is a light phone in the hand. The screen, at 5-inches in scale, is fairly small compared to many of today's megaphones, too, which makes for easy one-handed use. It's a fairly slim handset at 8.2 mm, ensuring it's easy to slip into a pocket. The design of the smartphone features a metal slab with rounded sides and a gray/black color scheme. There’s an Honor logo below the 5-inch screen and a fairly thin bezel around it. The end result is an inoffensive, but dull, looking phone. There is also no fingerprint scanner, even though the same model in China has one, which is a little annoying, but forgivable given the phone’s price. In terms of power, the Honor 6A has a middling processor arrangement and 2 GB of RAM, which is entry-level these days. That Snapdragon CPU might be low-end, but it is a load more reliable than MediaTek’s competing silicon. A user only gets 16 GB storage, but there is a microSD slot that can be used to add a further 128 GB. Budget phones often fall down when it comes to the camera, but the Honor 6A has plenty going for it. There is a 13 MP protruding circular camera sensor with phase detection autofocus on the back, and a 5 MP camera on the front. A user has got access to all the usual Huawei camera features too, including the dreaded beauty mode and an array of filters. Software is one of those areas that Huawei has improved upon over the years. Its EMUI, short for Emotion User Interface, started out life a bit fussy, then got overzealous with constant alerts beyond what standard Android phones would usually present its users. The EMUI 5.1 featured on the Honor 6A features more gauged alerts for the sake of battery saving. When ignoring some not perfect design choices, it is a perfectly usable operating system. The screen uses a 5-inch LCD IPS panel that offers surprisingly decent color reproduction. Being an IPS panel, it has decent viewing angles. The 720p resolution is not the sharpest, but at this price, it is fine and more than usable. The most interesting spec is the battery, which is a beefy 3020 mAh cell. That is bigger than a lot of flagships phones, but the Honor 6A has fewer pixels to push. It might take a while to fully recharge since there is no USB-C or fast-charge technology here. With decent performance, a camera that’s capable of great things, solid build quality and exemplary battery life, the Honor 6A does most of the basics well - but not all.

It really depends on what you're looking for and what you're happy with on your phone. For one, the Honor 6A is available directly from Three in the UK, which might be of use to you.

In the same breath, it does little wrong, so would make a savvy out-and-out purchase for someone who doesn't want all the bells & whistles and, of course, associated costs of a higher-end smartphone.

Honor isn’t doing much new here, but the 6A could be a solid budget choice, especially if the battery life impresses.

Still, the price is right, and if Honor can add enough little extras with EMUI, it might still be worth a look. I’ll know for sure when I get one in for review a little closer to launch.

The Honor 6A doesn't change the world of affordable phones, but it offers everything you'd expect and probably a little bit more for a device priced under £150.

At the end of the day, the Honor 6A Pro is a budget phone and you might expect that it would perform like one, but Honor has made the effort to make it slightly better than the other budget options out there and for that they could be praised for not cutting corners even if it's an RM699 phone. The camera is not great, but for its class, it has a very decent rear-camera and an equally decent performance to match just as long as you can be patient with the phone as it collects itself when loading up intensive apps.

5.00:
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

77.62%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
