Huawei usually releases new MediaPads, a line of Android tablets, on a regular basis. Despite the almost certain level of disruption meted out to its business by the recent US administration ban, it seems that the OEM will keep that going into this year. This is due to images posted by the Chinese retailer JD.com.
This website has released material showing what could be a new tablet alongside an Amber Sunrise P30 Pro, a Watch GT of the recently refreshed variety and a Huawei Mate 30. Furthermore, this tablet has some text including the clause "M6" running along one edge. The tablet looks more or less up-to-date with its lack of a physical home button and reduced bezels.
This leak is compounded by a recently reported entry in the Eurasian Economic Commission's (EEC) database. It is expressly for a Huawei MediaPad M6 ("and spare parts for it"). However, the listing does not mention anything about the apparent new M6's specs. Based on an earlier leak, it is possible that it may be powered by a Kirin 980 SoC. But what about its OS? It would be interesting to see if a new Huawei hardware release would still ship with Android, or go with its rumored new in-house ROM instead.
