HP releases new 14-inch workstation globally with 64 GB RAM, 120 Hz display and Nvidia graphics

HP released the ZBook 8 G2a at the end of May featuring AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors. As we discussed at the time, the 14-inch laptop can be configured with up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470, 64 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz VRR display. Alternatively, HP is also selling Intel-powered models backed by Core Ultra 5 336H, Core Ultra 7 356H, Core Ultra 7 366H, Core Ultra X7 358H or Core Ultra 9 386H processors.

For context, the ZBook 8 G2i 14 replaces the ZBook 8 G1i 14 we reviewed in late 2025 (curr. $2,449 on Amazon). Like last year, the ZBook 8 G2i 14 comes with integrated or professional RTX graphics. Currently, the laptop can be purchased with 4 Xe3 Panther Lake, Arc B390 or Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell GPUs, all with 77 Wh (8-cell) batteries.

Unsurprisingly, the only discrete GPU is the most powerful of the three. However, the Arc B390 is not that far behind in some tasks, according to our benchmarks. At the time of writing, 64 GB of RAM is configurable in many markets, as is a 1600p and 120 Hz IPS display. Core Ultra X SKUs with Arc B390 graphics do not appear to have reached the US yet, though.

The ZBook 8 G2i 14 starts at $2,199 in the US and £1,579 in the UK. Meanwhile, the 14-inch workstation costs €3,370 in the Eurozone because of a higher starting configuration. Pricing exceeds $8k in the US, though. Shipments should begin in July. The list of SKUs that HP is currently selling is as follows:
