Several listings for an announced new variant of the HP OMEN 15 have appeared on Chinese retailer Jingdong (JD.com). As its name suggests, the OMEN 15 Air will be a lighter and more compact version of the current OMEN 15 with a lighter and more subdued look to boot. Prices range from 9,499 CNY (~US$1,369) for the GTX 1660 Ti model to 16,999 CNY (~US$2,450) for the RTX 2080 Max-Q variant. All SKUs are equipped with an Intel Core i7-9750H too.

HP is seemingly planning a mid-generation refresh of its OMEN 15 series, that is according to JD.com, one of China's largest online retailers. Called the OMEN 15 Air, the unconfirmed device will be 20 mm thick, making it thinner than the regular OMEN 15. JD.com claims that both devices will weigh roughly the same though at around 2.4 kg. We say unconfirmed at this stage as HP has seemingly not announced anything, but this looks like more than just an erroneous listing as JD.com has published some official-looking marketing materials too.

There appear to be four SKUs, all of which will come with 15.6-inch, 1080p, and G-sync certified panels. All but the base model will have 144 Hz panels too, the former of which will come with a 60 Hz option instead. Moreover, all versions of the OMEN 15 Air will have a Core i7-9750H processor, the minor upgrade to the Core i7-8750H. HP will distinguish the OMEN 15 Air series by GPUs, RAM and SSDs. The SKUs are as follows:

Model number CPU RAM Storage GPU Price
OMEN 15-dh0006TX (7LH05PA) Intel Core i7-9750H 8 GB single-channel 512 GB SSD NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti 9,499 CNY (~US$1,369)
OMEN 15-dh0007TX (7LG77PA) Intel Core i7-9750H 16 GB dual-channel 512 GB SSD NVIDIA RTX 2060 10,299 CNY (~US$1,484)
OMEN 15-dh0008TX (7LG90PA) Intel Core i7-9750H 16 GB dual-channel 512 GB SSD & 1 TB HDD NVIDIA RTX 2070 Max-Q 12,999 CNY (~US$1,873)
OMEN 15-dh0009TX (7LG99PA) Intel Core i7-9750H 16 GB dual-channel 512 GB SSD & 1 TB HDD NVIDIA RTX 2080 Max-Q 16,999 CNY (~US$2,450)

The HP marketing material also states the series as having "Tempest Cooling Technology", which it announced alongside its other OMEN laptops at CES 2019. All four SKUs will have a full-sized SD card reader, an RJ-45 Ethernet port, an HDMI port and three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Additionally, there will be a mini DisplayPort, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, a 3.5 mm combined headphone and microphone jack along with a proprietary barrel-shaped power connector. It is unclear yet whether HP will release the OMEN 15 Air outside of China, or it will be called that in other regions. We would also take pricing with a pinch of salt, as companies usually vary their prices between regions.
