HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 gets the Intel Tiger Lake treatment and optional 5G connectivity
The HP EliteBook x360 830 G6 made for a solid convertible but did suffer from less than ideal CPU performance. But that was last year. Today, HP is announcing a refreshed version, the EliteBook 830 G8, with upgraded internals and optional 5G connectivity.
The EliteBook x360 830 G8 gets an upgrade to Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake processors with Core i5 and Core i7 options paired with up to 32 GB DDR4-3200 RAM. The convertible offers a 13.3-inch touch panel with optional HP Sure View Reflect privacy display with a 1000-nit brightness. Other display options include 400 nits and 250 nits anti-glare FHD touch variants. Buyers can also purchase an HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3, which includes a proximity alert to notify users if they leave the pen behind.
The EliteBook x360 830 G8 can be configured with up to a 2 TB NVMe SSD. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity are available while 5G Cat 20 and 4G LTE Cat 9 functionality can be optionally configured from the factory while ordering. The x360 830 G8 offers a decent port selection that includes 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports, 1x HDMI 2.0, a combo audio jack, and an optional nano SIM card slot.
The EliteBook x360 830 G8 also offers a 720p IR camera in select models. A 3-cell 53 Wh battery powers the notebook, which can be topped-up quickly using a 65 W USB-C charger.
The HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 will be available later this December. Pricing information will be made available later.
