Google reveals brand new Fitbit wearable in video

Fitness wristbands without a display are becoming increasingly popular. After the market leader Whoop was the only prominent option on the market for a long time, products such as the Polar Loop ($199 on Amazon) and the Amazfit Helio Strap are now also available as cheaper alternatives without a mandatory subscription.
In the teaser video embedded below, basketball player Stephen Curry shows Google's brand new fitness wristband, which is to be marketed under the Fitbit brand, for the first time. The wristband is relatively slim, the length can apparently be adjusted and the design with gray fabric and orange edges looks quite striking. Stephen Curry hints in the teaser video that he was involved in the development of the wristband and that it is intended to enable a "new relationship with health". More information is to be revealed "soon".
According to a report from Bloomberg some basic functions of this Fitbit Loop are also available without a subscription, but if you want to use all the features, you have to take out a paid subscription. This subscription will primarily unlock the AI-based Fitbit Personal Health Coach. While no further details about the hardware are yet known, Google, just like its competitors, is likely to install at least heart rate and SpO2 sensors as well as a gyroscope and accelerometers to replace the basic health and fitness functionality of a smartwatch. The growing number of new products shows that wristbands without a display are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to smartwatches alongside smart rings.
