Google announces Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launch date following two months of teasers
Google has finally confirmed when it will launch the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The company lifted the lid on the Pixel 6 series in August, followed by TV spots, billboards, in-store teasers and even a YouTube video based around potato chips.
Now, the company has revealed that it has scheduled the 'Pixel Fall Launch' for October 19, a date that has been mentioned several times already. According to Google's 'Pixel Event With Google' website, the October 19 event will commence at 10:00 PT, or 17:00 UTC. Incidentally, this website is interactive and can be navigated using your spacebar.
As expected, Google will host its October 19 event via YouTube. The event is a pre-recorded live stream; there will be no in-person event. 9to5Google points out that the ASL version is already on YouTube, albeit marked as private for the time being.
Presumably, Google will announce how much the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will cost in two weeks time, along with various other details about both devices that it has held back so far. A recent Google Camera app update hinted that Google will start shipping the Pixel 6 series roughly a week after its October 19 event, for reference. Pricing for both models has also leaked.
