Leaked Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro advert emerges with purported release date
A potential Pixel 6 series advert has appeared online. Brought to our attention by a post on r/GooglePixel, the image lists the Pixel and Pixel 6 Pro's launch date as October 19, mirroring a statement made by Jon Prosser. The image also contains a link to a YouTube Live Stream, presumably to an unlisted video for the moment.
Reputedly, @jaat235 discovered the image in the Google Retail Training app, which Google distributes via the Play Store. At first glance, the image may seem legitimate, but there are a few issues with the image that are red flags as authenticity goes.
For one, many letters are misaligned or the incorrect size, such as 'the', 'new' and 'and'. However, this may be a typeface error rather than a sign of foul play. The same could be said for the faint 'Tue, Oct 19' text within the Pixel 6 Pro's wallpaper. There are plenty of blue dots scattered across the person's face too, for some reason. This does not appear to be image distortion, as far as we can tell.
We cannot find the image in the Retail Training app, either. Unsurprisingly, we have our suspicions about the photo's veracity. The date is thought to be correct, but this advert may have been faked in some way. If it is, then we would expect Google to release it, or versions of it, within the next few days.
