Google Fitbit Edge gets a launch date, and it's pretty close

Following leaks revealing the design, specs, and price of the Fitbit Edge, Google has announced a launch date for the new wearable. The new Fitbit device joins the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5 as Google's wearables for 2026.
According to a post on X by the Google Health account, there is an announcement scheduled for October 12, 2026, which is next Monday. While the post doesn't explicitly mention the wearable, the caption and the attached image are more than enough proof that the product to be unveiled is the Fitbit Edge.
The Fitbit Edge will sit in between the Fitbit Air (available on Amazon for $99.99) and the Pixel Watch 5 (currently $349 on Amazon), catering to those who want a wearable with a display, but not a full fledged smartwatch.
According to leaked details, the Fitbit Edge has a 1.34-inch AMOLED display, up to 7 days of battery life (2 days with always-on display activated), weighs about 17.7 grams, and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. It has also been reported to have a user-replaceable battery, and support for fast charging.
In terms of health and fitness features, it is reported to have a skin temperature sensor, an ECG sensor, and AFib (atrial fibrillation) detection. Other features are support for Google Maps, media controls, and a Find My Phone feature. It will also be compatible with Android and iOS.
The Fitbit Edge will be available in multiple colors that match those of the Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5, and a leak already revealed they will cost €179 in the Eurozone and £159 in the UK.
