Gemini AI assistant takes animation design cues from Apple's new Siri in the latest Google app beta APK teardown

A new teardown of Google app beta version 15.31.29.29 revealed that the company is working on new launch animations for its Gemini AI assistant. Resembling Apple's iOS 18.1 beta Siri animations, Google's design has a slightly different appearance effect, and a different color. One animation highlights the Gemini pop-up with a glowing border, while the other creates a full-screen wave emerging from the pop-up.
Google is reportedly experimenting with new launch animations for its Gemini AI assistant, and it seems to have drawn some inspiration from Apple's iOS 18.1 Siri animations. While still under development, these animations will pop up when the user accesses the assistant via their voice or the physical button. The animations were spotted in a teardown of the latest Google app beta (version 15.31.29.29) by Android Authority. You can check Apple's Siri and Gemini's animations side-by-side below:
Google seems to have two animations in the works. One animation features a faint neon glow around the Gemini pop-up on the home screen, similar to the Siri animation but with a more indigo-leaning color scheme. The second animation, triggered when activating Gemini within an app, has the same color, but instead of a glow, it's an indigo-colored wave that emanates from the pop-up and sweeps across the screen.
There's a chance that the final appearance may differ from the early versions revealed through an APK teardown. The color-oriented design, especially prominent in Siri's animation, is also reminiscent of Edge Lighting that first appeared on the Galaxy S7 Edge.
