Geekom made the A9 Max available a little earlier than expected, as the mini PC was already available before the formal August 21, 2025, launch date. However, the company has now formally launched the system to the global market, and it's currently enjoying a promotional launch discount.
On both Amazon and the official site, the new Strix Point mini PC with 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of NVMe storage is currently going for $999. It's unclear how long this promo price will last, but after it expires, the regular $1,199 price tag of Geekom A9 Max will return.
Regarding the mini PC itself, the Geekom A9 Max packs the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, which comes with the Radeon 890M. As we have concluded in our analysis, this Strix Point iGPU can easily handle modern AAA games at the 1080p resolution with the visuals set to the medium to high preset.
While the A9 Max doesn't feature an OCuLink port, there are two USB4 ports, which bring eGPU support. Besides these two, the mini PC has the following ports:
- 5x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 2x 2.5G LAN
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
- 1x SD card reader
The company also highlights that users have the option to expand the RAM to up to 128 GB and the storage to a total of 8 TB, with a 4 TB SSD in each of the two M.2 slots. Other highlights include the IceBlast 2.0 cooling system, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a sleek design.
