Geekom A7 mini PC with external GPU support launches soon
Geekom previewed a brand-new mini PC a couple of days ago. As the preview highlighted, the tiny computer is going to pack Ryzen 7000 series APUs. More specifically, it will be available with the Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 7 7840S processors. A recent report confirmed that the model the brand previewed was the Geekom A7. And more information about the mini PC has emerged.
Besides featuring powerful APUs, the Geekom A7 will come with up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz in dual-channel. The mini PC will also feature an M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 slot, which can hold up to a 2 TB SSD. There's a connector for a SATA drive as well.
Other than that, the Geekom A7 packs Intel WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. These two will ensure reliable wireless connectivity. For wired connections, there's a 2.5G Ethernet, USB Type-A, USB Type-C, 3.5 mm audio, and HDMI ports.
On the note of the ports, the A7 mini PC comes with a USB 4 Type-C port. This port can also offer 100-W PD power and supports DisplayPort 1.4 video output. These specifications are the same as Thunderbolt 4. So, it means that this tiny computer can support external graphics docks (Minisforum UM780 XTX with Oculink port curr. US$779.99 on Amazon). But of course, we need to wait till the launch before jumping to conclusions.
Speaking of which, Geekom plans to debut the A7 mini PC at the CES 2024, which is set for early January.
