Garmin brings new bug fixes to Fenix 6 and older high-end smartwatches with new software update
Garmin has issued another minor beta update to the Fenix 6 series and its peers. This time, the company has released Beta Version 26.86, an update that follows last month's Beta Version 26.85. Unfortunately, Garmin has not offered any other indications about when a new stable update could arrive.
The company's focus on addressing outstanding bugs rather than adding new features suggests that Beta Version 26.86 could be one of the last builds in this beta cycle. In an associated forum post, Garmin states that Beta Version 26.86 should fix an issue that could cause sports devices to shut down when attempting to create a backup. Additionally, Fenix 6, Enduro, and MARQ smartwatches should now display the menu to create a course properly, which occasionally failed with Beta Version 26.85.
Moreover, the company claims that Beta Version 26.86 resolves a bug that resulted in lap cadence spikes when swimming. Finally, the same update is said to address an issue that prevented smart notifications from displaying as they should otherwise do. Currently, Garmin is offering Beta Version 26.86 as a side-load-only build, meaning that you must manually install it on an eligible smartwatch. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
