Roland Quandt has leaked details about the Vivomove Trend, a hybrid smartwatch that will be available in multiple colours. Incidentally, the leak arrives a few days after the FCC published documentation about the Forerunner 265. While the FCC released technical details about the Forerunner 265, Quandt has provided high-resolution renders, specifications and a European launch price.
As the leaked images show, Garmin has included small displays above and beneath physical hands for displaying metrics like sleep quality and heart rate. These simple displays should help the Vivomove Trend achieve longer battery runtimes than regular smartwatches, with Garmin claiming up to 5 days in normal use. Additionally, the Vivomove Trend will launch with an NFC chip for Garmin Pay and 5 ATM water resistance. A SpO2 sensor will be onboard too, as will a heart rate monitor, GPS and a gyroscope, among other sensors.
Currently, Garmin is expected to offer the Vivomove Trend in black, gold and rose gold colourways. Quandt adds that the Vivomove Trend will also be capable of recharging on Qi wireless charging pads, albeit without providing exact details about compatibility and charging wattages. Unfortunately, a launch date is unknown at this point, but Quandt asserts that there will only be a 40 mm variant sold for just over €300.
