Earlier this year, Garmin presented the Venu 2 and Venu 2s, two smartwatches that built on the Venu and Venu SQ. Now, @davezatz has leaked the Venu 2 Plus, which will be available in three colours. So far, we only have one marketing render to go off, but it reveals some changes that Garmin has made from the Venu 2.
Specifically, the Venu 2 Plus will support microphone capabilities of some sort, potentially voice commands. It is unclear under which guise this would arrive though, and if Garmin has developed an in-house voice assistant. Potentially, Garmin could rely on Amazon Alexa voice commands, like other smartwatch manufacturers, rather than Google Assistant or building a voice assistant from scratch.
Additionally, the Venu 2 Plus has three hardware buttons, one more than the Venu 2 and Venu 2s have. Supposedly, the third hardware button will trigger the smartwatch's microphone input, but it remains to be seen how Garmin has configured this.
Unfortunately, a launch date for the Garmin Venu 2 Plus has not leaked. It appears that Garmin has certified the smartwatch with the FCC in the US though, a sign that a device is close to being released. Hence, it seems likely that the Venu 2 Plus will arrive before the end of the year.
