Galaxy Sport: fresh leak suggests new direction for the new Samsung smartwatch
The Samsung Unpacked 2019 rumor mill mainly grinds Galaxy S10 grist; however, it also sometimes extends to the additional accessories or companions that may be launched alongside the potentially comprehensive early-year flagship line-up. The Galaxy Sport may be one of these. It is the probable name for the upcoming generation of high-end Samsung smartwatches. The latest leaks on this subject asserts that it will come in 3 to 4 colors.
These colors are black, rose-gold (or possibly pink) and a dark shade of teal. They are apparent in a series of images posted by TigerMobiles, and are shown to be present in the band of each respective SKU. A similar render shared by 91Mobiles also hints at a fourth, silver version of the same watch. The colors are also applied to the watch cases (which could well be metal), as with an increasing number of modern-day wearables. This creates an effectively clean effect, particularly in the teal variant.
The good news for Samsung smartwatch design fans may end there, however. Despite TigerMobile's insistence that these are genuine product renders from reliable sources that pertain specifically to the Galaxy Sport, the device is missing the classic rotating bezel found in previous Galaxy-line weaable models. This moving part was introduced with the Samsung Gear line, and helps navigate the interface. It has been well-received by reviewers for this purpose, and yet appears to have been dumped for this new generation.
There is still no word on when the Galaxy Sport may be released, although it is likely that this will be at some point during Unpacked 2019. This event will take place in just over 2 weeks from now.
