Frostpunk 2 launches in July, gets 3 DLCs, pre-orders open for PC
11 Bit Studios has confirmed in the trailer embedded below that Frostpunk 2 will be released on July 25, 2024. The PC version can be pre-ordered now for 44.99 euros on Steam with the Deluxe Edition still being offered at a 10 percent discount until launch, i.e. for 67.49 euros.
For the additional price of currently 22.50 euros, buyers will receive access to the closed beta test for seven days in April, 72 hours early access to the story mode, exclusive in-game items, the novella "Warm Flesh", which is set in the Frostpunk universe, and the digital soundtrack as well as a digital artbook.
However, the most important content of the Deluxe Edition is probably the three paid DLCs that will be released after the game, although no details of their content, release date, or prices are yet known. The game will soon be available to pre-order for the PlayStation 5 (approx. 450 euros on Amazon) in the PlayStation Store, and for the Xbox Series X|S in the Microsoft Store. Those who have subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass can save themselves the purchase, as the game will already be included in the gaming subscription at launch.
Frostpunk 2 is set 30 years after the events of the first part of the series, with the "Society Survival Game" promising a mix of city building, strategy, and management gameplay. The second part introduces an in-depth political system, requiring players to mediate between factions with different interests while allowing them to build larger metropolises.
