Most mobile gamers who also happen to be fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be delighted to find out that there's a new game for them freely available on both Google Play and the iTunes Store. The name of this new mobile RPG is Marvel Strike Force, and it also happens to be the first title to be developed by FoxNet Games.
According to the Senior Vice President of Games & Innovation at Marvel Entertainment, Jay Ong, "MARVEL Strike Force perfectly demonstrates how we use games as a driver of the Marvel brand. Featuring a wholly original storyline that has gamers mixing and matching Super Heroes and Super Villains in never-before-seen alliances, this game is authentically Marvel and one of our most highly-anticipated projects this year."
Sadly, the view count of the official YouTube launch trailer does not look as it should for such a "highly-anticipated" project. However, it seems that the initial stream of 1-star ratings and bad reviews has finally stopped and, as more and more players join the fight, the overall Google Play rating of this game is also finally back above 4 out of 5 stars.
Marvel Strike Force only has 88 MB in size and requires Android 4.4 KitKat or later. The version currently available on Google Play is 1.0.0, and it already passed the 100,000 downloads barrier. Available in 16 languages, the game is free to download and play, but those who want to speed up their progress or improve their characters can acquire one of the many in-game items with prices that go up to around US$100.
On the other hand, the game has a 4.8 out of 5 rating in the iTunes Store. The version for Apple hardware requires iOS 10.0 or later and has a size of almost 190 MB.
