Astro Duel 2 is an innovative hybrid of top-down shooter and melee platformer. Epic Games is offering the game for free for a week to coincide with today's release.

The first part of Astro Duel was released in February 2016 and has a very positive average rating of 95% with 64 reviews on Steam. Wild Rooster has now released the sequel in collaboration with game developer Rusty Moyher - and it is available for free at Epic Games until March 14. The game can only be played on PC and Mac, but supports Xbox and PlayStation controllers.

Astro Duel 2 is a sci-fi game that combines top-down space battles with melee platform elements. Players use the heavy cannons and lasers of their spaceships to destroy enemies in space, or climb out of the spaceship with their pilot and fight enemies on land - with swords and shields, guns, mines and grenades.

Players can either fight competitively against each other or join forces and exploit the solar system together. Battles take place in fully destructible arenas that players can use to their advantage. In Versus mode, up to six pilots can compete against each other with full bot support. There is a selection of different spaceships to choose from, each with unique special abilities and requiring their own play style.

Prices are subject to change. The offer was available at the time of publication of the article, but may be limited in time or quantity.
