Formovie Cinema Edge cheaper 4K UST laser projector now available
Formovie has launched the Cinema Edge, a new 4K UST laser projector. Like the older Formovie Theater, you can use the latest model to project images up to 150 inches wide with an ultra-short throw ratio of 0.23:1.
There are several differences between the Cinema Edge and the Theater. The latest projector has a blue phosphor laser with ALPD for up to 1,900 ISO lumens brightness, and it is compatible with HDR10 and HLG. Meanwhile, the Theater has a triple laser light source with ALPD technology and a slightly lower peak brightness of 1,800 lumens. However, this version also supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. The color range also differs, with the Cinema Edge providing 110% coverage of the Rec.709 color space, while the Theater covers 107% of the wider BT.2020 (or Rec.2020) gamut.
The projector has two 15W Bowers & Wilkins speakers, compatible with Dolby Audio & DTS-HD, and a lower running noise of under 32 dB. Other features include Google TV, MEMC motion smoothing and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. You can now buy the Formovie Cinema Edge 4K UST Laser Projector for $2,499/€2,499, making it cheaper than the Theater which retails for $3,499/€3,299. Plus, customers who order the device before September 5th can get $300/€300 off with code FVEDGE7.
