'First Intel CPU + GPU Gaming laptop': Clevo X270 notebook with Intel Arc A770M GPU breaks cover
Clevo, a laptop manufacturer that produces machines for Schenker / XMG, Maingear, Eurocom, etc, has posted a video showcasing the company’s newest X270 notebook with an Intel Arc A770M mobile GPU (via @9550pro). Clevo calls the laptop ‘the first Intel CPU + GPU Gaming laptop’ as the machine packs an Intel Alder Lake H chip alongside the top-of-the-line Intel Arc board.
Since the X270 is meant to be a gaming laptop and the Intel Alder Lake H CPUs are power-hungry, Clevo is using seven copper heat pipes and liquid metal on the CPU to keep temperatures in check. The company claims ’10 degrees less than normal.’ We don’t know what temperature ‘normal’ refers to, so take the claim with a grain of salt.
When it comes to the display, the X270 notebook is packing a 17.3-inch Mini LED display produced by AU Optronics. The port situation is also quite good with 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, an ethernet jack, a mini-DisplayPort, an HDMI, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and a microphone/S/PDIF optical combo jack. Finally, there is a DC input for charging a 99 Wh battery.
Clevo didn’t share any performance numbers in the video, so we have no idea how the Intel Arc Alchemist A770M performs. We reported earlier that an Intel Arc A370M featured in an MSI reference system seemingly sits between the RTX 3050 mobile and the Radeon 680M iGPU in terms of gaming performance. So, with the Intel Arc A770M, we can expect performance close to or exceeding an RTX 3060 mobile.
