Calling Intel's Arc line of graphics cards delayed would be a bit of an understatement, given how long they've been in the rumour mill. While a few odd graphics cards have made it to markets in a limited capacity, Intel was reluctant to launch it globally. Now, the company has finally announced the price and availability of the flagship Arc A770.
One will be able to purchase the Arc A770 on October 12 at US$329. Previous reports have shown that it can trade blows with Nvidia's Ampere-based GeForce RTX 3060. It is also worth noting that most of those runs were plagued with bad drivers; hence, the graphics card can perform better over time once Intel irons out kinks.
Intel will likely make both variants of the Arc A770 available for purchase, one with 8 GB of VRAM and the other with 16 GB. Other specs include 28 Xe cores, 28 raytracing units, and a TGP of 225 W. It is manufactured on TSMC's N6 node and has a base clock of 2.1 GHz. However, it can easily be pushed to 2.7 GHz with a minimal increase in power consumption.
