Intel’s Flagship Arc A770M mobile GPU edges out GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile in 3DMark TimeSpy, though driver optimization questions remain
Recently, tipster @_rogame shared what appear to be 3DMark TimeSpy scores for the Intel Arc A770M, with results from two separate A770M-equipped systems. One of the scores is from a NUC12SNKi72 system and is with advanced driver optimizations disabled. The other is from a Clevo X270 PTA 17.3-inch gaming laptop with optimizations enabled. The tests suggest that the A770M can easily exceed 10,000 on TimeSpy in systems with different cooling capabilities.
The NUC system with driver optimizations disabled scored 10793, easily exceeding the mobile variant of the GeForce RTX 3060. The Clevo laptop, with optimizations turned on, did even better. Its score of 11667 is actually slightly higher than the GeForce RTX 3070. While these scores appear quite competitive, it's important to note that Intel's Arc A380 also scores higher than its NVIDIA and AMD counterparts. R
In actual gaming workloads, though, the Arc A380 often ends up running worse than the Radeon RX 6400. Without significant driver improvements, it's difficult to tell how the Arc A770M will perform against the midrange competition when it arrives in international markets.
