Deal | Excellent Apple MacBook Air M2 is going for an enticing price as base configuration drops by double-digit margin
When Apple launched the MacBook Air with the M2 SoC in 2022, we called the laptop “very good, but too expensive” in our review. Not only did the laptop cost a whopping $1,299 for the entry-level configuration, but the base model also had a mere 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage. For a notebook that was priced north of a $1,000, the limited RAM/storage was pretty hard to overlook even though the MacBook Air M2’s hardware shined in our testing.
Thankfully, Apple reduced the price of the machine to only $999 when the company released the latest MacBook Air with the M3. Making the MacBook Air M2 an even better buy than it was previously, you can now get the laptop for only $799 at Best Buy.
As mentioned above, the MacBook Air M2 excelled in our review, prompting us to give the notebook a “very good” rating of 92%. Courtesy of the M2 SoC, the laptop performed quite well with 7% and 18% better performance than the Apple M1 in single-core and multi-core workloads respectively.
However, even with increased performance, the MacBook Air M2 displayed manageable temps and had the same excellent battery life as we’ve come to expect from Apple laptops, as our Wi-Fi websurfing test produced an endurance of over 15 hours.
Other worth-mentioning details include a 13.6-inch display with 98.4% DCI-P3 coverage alongside a 1,384:1 contrast ratio, an FHD webcam, and a MagSafe connector.
Long story short, the Apple MacBook Air with the M2 SoC is an incredible daily driver at the latest reduced price and it deserves your attention.
