Enough Phone packs 5.3-inch display and modular battery into tiny Android smartphone
The Enough Phone was announced in June, but neither the design nor the full technical specifications were revealed at that time. In a blog post, the manufacturer has now shared photos of a dummy along with the targeted specifications. According to the post, the Enough Phone features a minimalist design with a flat bezel, a display with a relatively wide chin, and a back panel with a single camera.
Four screws make it relatively easy to replace the battery, which is said to have a capacity of 3,500 to 4,000 mAh. Measuring 132.8 x 63.8 x 12 millimeters, the smartphone is significantly smaller than the Apple iPhone 17 ($760 on Amazon), and in fact almost the same size as the iPhone 13 mini, albeit considerably thicker. At least the thicker body allows for the inclusion of a dual-SIM slot in addition to the removable battery, with one of the slots optionally available for a microSD memory card.
The Enough Phone supports an eSIM, an NFC chip for contactless payments, a 5G modem, a fingerprint sensor in the power button, and a 50 MP main camera based on the Sony IMX766 in a 1/1.56-inch format, which sits flush with the back panel. The selfie camera uses a 32 MP sensor. The 5.3-inch display uses an IPS panel with a resolution of just 1,520 x 720 pixels, but thanks to the small screen size, this still results in a pixel density of 317 PPI.
The Enough Phone is expected to ship with OdysseyOS, based on Android 17. A MediaTek Dimensity 7500 paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage promises mid-range performance. The Enough Phone is set to be funded via Kickstarter, though the manufacturer has not yet confirmed details regarding the price or launch schedule. According to the manufacturer, at least 20,000 customers are needed to bring the project to life. So far, 4,500 customers have provided an email address on the project’s website.
