Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 15 for 2019 fixes the laptop’s most blatant flaw – the webcam placement – but doesn’t change much more than this beyond some updated components. This feels like a wasted opportunity to place Dell’s flagship 15-inch laptop in line with the rest of its redesigned XPS range.

Archive.org versionIt is not only the hardware that puts the XPS 15 amongst the best laptops on the market at the dawn of every year. It looks great, it feels great, it certainly has an amazing set of displays to choose from. However, when you go back in time, you will see that these things all remain unchanged for a third or fourth year in a row.

Archive.org versionWith much-improved GPU performance and a sensible webcam location, the XPS 15 7590 makes a case for itself against competitors like the ThinkPad X1 Extreme or P1 with its good looks and lower price. However, due to quality-control issues and technology limitations, the OLED display is somewhat less compelling than the FHD and UHD IPS options, in my opinion.
