Dell P3424WEB: New curved monitor with webcam, microphones and KVM switch now available

Dell is an extremely broad-based company and caters to both video gamers and professional customers with its monitors. The new P3424WEB is aimed more at the latter and also focuses on video conferencing. The model comes with a 2K QHD webcam, which, thanks to a larger sensor, should offer good playback quality even in environments that are not sufficiently bright enough. Two microphones are also installed, which are intended to effectively suppress bothersome background noise. The webcam can be hidden via a manual shutter and the microphones muted via a button.

The 34-inch monitor has a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The IPS monitor is curved - but not particularly strong at a radius of 3,800 millimeters. The brightness is supposed to be 300 cd/m², and the panel is advertised as reproducing 99% of the sRGB color space. The gray-to-gray response time is reported to be at least 5 milliseconds. The screen can be adjusted in rotation, tilt and height, and a VESA mount (100 x 100 millimeters) is available.

Several USB ports are installed. This is not only a USB hub with three USB 3.2 Type A and one USB 3.2 Type C ports, but also a KVM switch, which allows for seamless switching between two image sources. The P3424WEB accepts image signals via HDMI, DisplayPort and also USB-C. Devices connected via USB-C can be supplied with up to 90 watts, meaning compatible laptops or mini PCs can be connected with just one cable.

Dell offers the Microsoft Teams and Zoom-certified monitor in its own online shop for a price of just under US$950.
