Huawei MateStation X 2023: All-in-one PC with high-resolution display appears in a new variant
At the end of 2022, Huawei presented the MateStation X 2023, a new all-in-one PC that comes with the powerful Intel Core i9-12900H as standard. Now the company has introduced a new model variant, which is equipped with an Intel Core i5-12500H processor.
In contrast to the Core i9 variant, the new variant with the less powerful processor is offered only in a single memory version, namely 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Users can store the operating system, programs and data on a 1 TB SSD, an NVMe SSD that promises a correspondingly high data transfer rate.
The screen measures 28.2 inches diagonally and offers a high resolution of 3,840 x 2,560. Touch input is supported. The maximum brightness is specified as 500 cd/m², which is higher than the usual standard for cheaper monitors. The refresh rate of 60 Hz corresponds to the standard; accordingly, the running of video games is unlikely to be one of the flagship traits of the MateStation X 2023 due to the lack of a dedicated GPU.
A webcam with a resolution of 2 MP is installed and two speakers with an output of 5 watts each are also on board. Four microphones are available as well as a modern Thunderbolt 4 port. There are also USB-C with DisplayPort image output and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports in Type A.
In China, the new version of the PC is available for a price equivalent to around US$1230. Information on prices and launch dates for markets outside China are not yet available.
