Eizo EX4342-3D: This special monitor can display 3D content in 4K resolution

Monitors with strong performance parameters are now also available for retail customers at reasonable prices: large 4K monitors can be purchased for just a few hundred dollars. In professional sectors, monitors are sometimes subject to much stricter requirements, which are met by professional products. Eizo has introduced a monitor, namely the EX4342-3D, for a very specific target group - surgeons.

The 43-inch monitor aims to give doctors an edge thanks to its 3D display capabilities. The large screen diagonal means the screen can be easily read without having to leave the patient or reposition the monitor. The high 3D resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 is intended to make even the finest details visible, while the maximum brightness is given as 700 cd/m². According to the manufacturer, the image is flicker-free, even at low frame rates, which should reduce the effort required for reading. Appropriate passive glasses must be worn to view image content in 3D.

The display can also be mounted on operating trolleys; picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture are supported, as is automatic switching between multiple image sources. The display is also IP45 certified, the BT.2020 color space should be able to be reproduced appropriately, and stable transmission of image content should also be possible over 30 meters via a special cable. According to Eizo, the CuratOR EX4342-3D will be available from January 2024, but a price has not been specified.
