So, sure, you have a very nice display, reasonable battery life, and somewhat comfortable input devices. However, we would certainly not recommend this machine because of its cooling issues. We’re not sure whether the issue concerns the thermal compound in use or just a poor design. Basically, you’re better off picking an ASUS TUF A15/A17, or the Legion Y540 (15) from last year.

This laptop offers great gaming performance per pound and can work well as a general work machine thanks to its relatively lengthy battery life. We're not fans of the leaden trackpad, though. And the design of last year's version was actually better.

The Dell G5 15 has good gaming pace and solid components elsewhere, and it also has great battery life and a decent price. However, the washed-out screen, poor ergonomics, chunky exterior and mediocre connectivity all its prospects when stacked up against other RTX 2060 notebooks.

Rough and rugged around the edges, the Dell G5 is an underrated performer in this era of high-speed, high-performance gaming laptops. While it isn’t the flashiest in terms of appearance and performance, its accessibility and affordability more than makes up for those deficiencies, especially if you’re on a budget. Just be prepared to carry that weight.

As a package, there is very little to fault in the Dell G5 15. For a laptop that starts at a price of around Rs 82,000, the G5 15 does well. While it certainly does not set the world on fire with its amazing feature set or the raw processing power it brings. However, it does offer good value for money and design as well as hardware that's suited for both gaming and productivity tasks, and that's definitely its biggest selling point.

Dell's new G5 15 5500 variant aims to appeal to the mid-range gamer. With a Core i5-10300H, a GTX 1650 Ti, and a 120 Hz display, the G5 15 5500 gets the basics right. However, for the asking price of ₹87,990 (US$1,195), the G5 15 5500 cuts corners, especially with the display. Can the Dell G5 15 5500 make up for these deficits on the performance front? Let's find out.
