Debian-based Clonezilla Live 3.3.1-35 packs major enhancements and bug fixes

Available for almost two decades, Clonezilla is an open-source suite of tools capable of performing disk cloning, imaging, and system deployment operations. While the Server Edition facilitates mass deployment across networks, Clonezilla Live focuses on single-computer use. Released at the end of last week, version 3.3.1-35 is based on the Debian Sid repository as of February 20th.
Compared to version 3.3.0-33, Clonezilla Live 3.3.1-35 comes with the following changes:
- Linux kernel version 6.18.9.
- Partclone 0.3.45.
- Capable of cloning 4kn disks to 512n/e disks and 512n/e disks to 4kn disks.
- New app ocs-pt-512-4k-convert, for converting 512B to 4kn partition tables.
- The functions do_ntfs_512to4k_fix and do_ntfs_4kto512_fix have been improved, now featuring updated Total Sectors (Offset 40) for NTFS.
- More robust ocs-expand-gpt-pt, now capable of 512B to 4kn conversion if mismatched sectors are detected.
- Can change the master key from a LUKS header.
- Rewritten ocs-get-nic-fw-lst so it can now retrieve firmware lists directly from the kernel modules.
- Improved BitLocker support.
In addition to the above, the system now prompts for passwords again when entered incorrectly. The image dir now features fdisk.lst and blkdev.json, while the live system now includes makeboot64.cmd instead of makeboot64.bat.
At just 463 MB, the ISO file is compact enough to fit on a CD or a 512 MB USB drive. The downloadables can be found on the SourceForge project page.
