DJI's first power stations, the DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 500, have been on the market for less than a year, although they were first announced in China in December 2023. When they first launched, the smaller Power 500 with a 512Wh battery cost $499 while the DJI Power 1000 with a 1024Wh battery was priced at $999. Now, Amazon is offering a limited-time deal that slashes the price of the DJI Power 1000 by 62%, making it even cheaper than the Power 500.
At 62% off, the DJI Power 1000 can be purchased for $379, making it $120 cheaper than the DJI Power 500. DJI also has the power station discounted on its online store, but for $699, while the smaller Power 500 is available to buy for $379. It's a no-brainer which deal to go for.
The DJI Power 1000 can be used when away on a camping trip or away from a wall outlet to power devices such as an outdoor TV, external lights, and even electrical tools. It can also be used as backup power in the house when there is a power cut, automatically switching to UPS mode if the device such as a TV or refrigerator was connected before the power cut. DJI also claims the LiFePO4 battery will maintain over 70% of its original capacity after 4,000 cycles.
The DJI Power 1000 has a max. output of 2600W. Owners can plug appliances to its two AC outputs (120V) while high-power devices can be connected to the two USB-C output ports which have a max power output of 140W per port. There are also two USB-A output ports which have a max power output of 24W per ports and two SDC ports with a max power output of 240W which can be used to fast charge select DJI drones such as the Mavic 3 series and Inspire 3.
When it comes to charging the power station, owners can choose to plug it into a wall outlet and choose between 1200W or 600W; a full charge via this method takes just 70 minutes. It can also be charged via a solar panel (supports up to 800W input) which takes 1.35 hours for a full charge. Charging via your car's power outlet is the slowest, as it takes 11 hours for a full charge.
Thankfully, that duration can be shortened if you purchase the newly announced DJI 1kW Power Super Fast Car Charger which connects to the car battery and charges via the excess energy generated by the alternator. The $299 charger brings down the charge time to 78 minutes.
