We have now entered the rumoured release month for DJI's next high-end consumer drone. Right on cue, several high-profile leakers have got their hands on the first high-resolution image of DJI's Mavic 3 Pro successor (curr. $2,199 on Amazon).
According to Jasper Ellens, this new image may originate from the Mavic 4 Pro's retail box. Certainly, the style and background colour would be in keeping with DJI's retail boxes, which tend to be relatively plain. Unfortunately, an image showing the full Mavic 4 Pro retail box has not emerged yet. If that were the case, we would have expected more concrete specifications to have leaked online by now.
Regardless, Ellens speculates that the rectangular sensor beneath the Mavic 4 Pro's right-hand propeller could be for infrared or LiDAR purposes. The leaker adds that DJI has not postponed the drone's launch, despite recent suggestions that its release had slipped into May. As a result, we should start seeing official teasers arrive around April 17 before an April 24 launch event. Pricing for the Mavic 4 Pro itself has already leaked online, as have how much its launch accessories will cost in the US.
