DJI has released new firmware for the Mavic 3, its latest drone. An updated DJI Fly app accompanies the firmware release, now at version 1.5.4. Both updates are available now.

When DJI announced the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine last month, it did so without enabling either's full feature sets. Instead, the company stated that its latest drones would receive more features in January 2022 via a firmware update. Some of these features included 120 FPS video support and APAS 5.0 object detection.

However, DJI has delivered its promised firmware update a month early, which arrives alongside an update DJI Fly app. As the screenshot below shows, the Mavic 3 now supports FocusTrack, HyperLapse and MasterShots, among other changes.

Correspondingly, the Mavic 3 Cine can finally shoot in RAW. Additionally, DJI claims to have optimised the drone's obstacle avoidance and its return to home (RTH) functionality. Unfortunately, a panorama mode, QuickShots and QuickTransfer will not arrive for the Mavic 3 until next month.

Firmware v01.00.0400 and version 1.5.4 of the DJI Fly app are downloadable now. You must update the DJI Fly app to its latest version before upgrading your Mavic 3 or Mavic 3 Cine, though.
