A new leak has put the launch of the DJI Air 4 back on the table. Last seen over a year ago, the Air 4 would be the first DJI Air drone release in years, following the launch of the Air 3S back in late 2024.

DJI has released numerous products in the last few months. For instance, it released the Mic Mini 2, Osmo Pocket 4 and the Lito drone range in April. Then last week, the company started selling the Osmo Mobile 8P globally with its Osmo FrameTap accessory.

By the looks of things, DJI is preparing to return to its Air drone division with a new model, too. For context, the company launched the Air 3S over eighteen months ago (curr. $1,259 on Amazon). Presented in October 2024, the Air 3S combines a 1-inch primary camera with a 3x optical telephoto camera. Incidentally, DJI will soon be bringing this lens combination to its Osmo Pocket division with the impending Osmo Pocket 4P.

Now, Igor Bogdanov has shared an early sighting of a drone referred to as the 'DJI Air 4'. Currently, the leaker has not provided any other information about where this screenshot originates. Nonetheless, the app shown appears to be one that is used for Chinese regulatory purposes.

In other words, DJI would have submitted the drone for compliance purposes for it to have appeared in this app menu. The drone's categorisation implies that the Air 4 is a sub-250 g drone, too. Hence, the eventual release of the Air 4 appears more concrete than it did when a photo of a crashed prototype surfaced in early 2025. A release date remains unknown for now, though.
