New DJI rival debuts globally: sub-250g drone with 1/1.3-inch sensor and 4K60

The Potensic Atom 3 is now available for order outside China. For example, the model can be ordered on Amazon for $680; the package includes three batteries and the display controller, and delivery is expected next week. According to the manufacturer, each battery can provide up to 40 minutes of flight time. With all three batteries, that adds up to an impressive two hours, although real‑world endurance will vary with usage.
The Atom 3 weighs under 249 grams, which can simplify legal compliance in many regions. It features a 1/1.3‑inch sensor designed to deliver high image quality in low light and challenging lighting conditions. The drone records 4K video at 60 Hz and can capture footage with extended dynamic range. In Full HD mode it can shoot slow‑motion at up to 7× slowdown. Vertical recording for social formats (2.7K) is also supported, and users can enable tracking modes useful for sports and action shots.
The Atom 3 supports waypoint flight planning to simplify automated flights. Potensic specifies a video transmission range of up to 16 km. The drone is available separately or as a bundle with the dedicated controller featuring a 5.5‑inch, 900 cd/m² display; alternatively, the controller can accommodate the user’s smartphone as the screen.
