At the Tesla Q3 conference call last week, one company official mentioned that the Cybertruck has a 14-inch suspension travel until fully lifted. That is seemingly more than enough for the Cybertruck's off-road testing session at the famed Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area "stair steps" challenge.
What's more, the typical whiny electric drivetrain noise that is rather audible on the Rivian R1T, for instance, which recently won the 1,600-mile Rebelle Rally off-road competition, is almost non-existent on the Cybertruck, as exemplified in the spy videos.
It's not clear if the Cybertruck test driver also did the usual dirt road tracks ascent, but they did climb the dust-covered "stair" with aplomb. Tesla keeps preparing its first electric pickup truck for the grand delivery event on November 30, about two months after Elon Musk's self-imposed Cybertruck release deadline earlier this year.
The Tesla Cybertruck may initially be launched in two trims - a dual-motor version, and a tri-motor Performance model - while industry influencers who will get the first deliveries were warned that the Cybertruck price will be in the "mid to high 70s," most likely for the tri-motor variant.
The cheapest RWD Cybertruck, or an eventual quad-motor beast could be launched much later, though, as Elon Musk warned that it will take 18 months for the Cybertruck's production to ramp in quantities sufficient to meet demand as it is.
