The Decathlon Electric Cargo Bike Rear Loading Longtail R500 is currently discounted in European countries. The 2022 model is reduced to £2,999.99 in the UK, a saving of 9% or £300 on the £3,299.99 retail price. Customers in France can now get the e-bike with a €200 discount, bringing the price down from €2,899 to €2,699.
The R500 Longtail e-bike has a 250W motor with 58Nm torque, three assistance modes and a torque sensor for natural feeling assistance. The model’s 672Wh lithium-ion battery allows you to travel with assistance for up to 90 km (~56 miles) in Eco Mode, fully recharging in under five hours. The cargo bike can support loads of up to 170 kg (~375 lbs), with a front basket and rear rack with an adjustable retention bar. Other features include an LCD mounted on the handlebars, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and an eight-speed rear derailleur from Microshift.
A 2023 version of the e-cargo bike, named the BTWIN Longtail Electric Cargo Bike R500E, launched earlier this month in countries including France and Germany. The two models are identical, though they are available in different colorways; the new model is offered in Light Green and Beige, while the older bike comes in light blue-gray. The UK deal on the R500 will end on December 16; it is unclear how long the offer in France will last.
