In a setback for some Ampere graphics card owners looking to eke out more performance with Resize BAR, a mixup at Colorful seemingly prevents owners of the OEM's cards from getting hold of the requisite update files. Amid a confusing rollout that requires motherboard BIOS updates, driver updates, and a VBIOS update for the GPU, this leaves owners of cards like the Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Ultra OC without recourse.
NVIDIA only recently rolled out Resize BAR support for Ampere cards. Its own BIOS update tool allows users with Founders' Edition silicon to update and enable the feature. Those with aftermarket cards need to use update tools provided by the OEMs themselves. We can confirm that, at present, INNO3D's and ASUS' update tools are available for download, as are those from other OEMs.
At present, it seems likely that Colorful's omission is accidental, and not due to delays: the OEM offers an instruction page that points to the update tool download link. Actually clicking on it yields a 404 error, however. We will reach out to Colorful to clarify the situation and keep you posted.
