Multiple Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition variants show up online running AMD Ryzen 9 processor and Ampere graphics cards
It seems that Cezanne has made quite an impression on a lot of OEMs. Shortly after spotting Razer's first-ever notebook with an AMD CPU, the Dell Alienware M15 Ryzen Edition has shown up online once again. We talked about it last month (February 2021) when mentions of it just popped up online. @_rogame, the same individual that spotted the device initially, has now stumbled upon three variants of the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5. The R5 suffix is of significance here, as the R4 tag is reserved for Comet Lake-H CPUs and Ampere GPUs.
One Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 variant seems to be powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. It was speculated that the RTX 3070 in question here would be the Max-P version. Then again, Max-P and Max-Q designations mean little with Ampere cards, so it's hard to tell how it'll perform without knowing its TGP. The other Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 model runs a Ryzen 7 5800H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3060. A third variant exists, too, with a Ryzen 7 5800H and GeForce RTX 3070.
All three Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 models seem to be running 16GB of RAM and an NVMe SSD. We can expect Dell to reuse the same 15-inch FHD 144Hz panel across the Ryzen models, too. This is all we know about the new Cezanne plus Ampere-powered Alienware laptop for now. You can find out more about how the previous-generation Dell Alienware m15 R3 performs in our in-depth review.
