If you hadn’t been sold by the fast-charging abilities of current smartphones yet, you might want to have a good look at the Oppo Reno Ace in either the video in the tweet or the YouTube clip embedded below. Many OEMs have their own proprietary fast-charging technologies, but it’s safe to say that Oppo’s SuperVOOC 2.0 system is suitably leading the charge, pun intended.
How often have you plugged your smartphone in for charging overnight, weighed down by the knowledge that you know your device needs a good few hours to get back to 100% charge? How many times have you realized you don’t have enough battery charge left in your device for an important moment and haven’t got the time to juice it back up? Well, those nightmare scenarios can now be well and truly banished.
A couple of clips of the Oppo Reno Ace being charged give a perfect demonstration of just how rapid the 65 W SuperVOOC 2.0 system is. Now you can sit back and enjoy watching the charging percentage figure zoom up rather than checking back every 30 minutes and sighing in desperation as your smartphone’s charge level barely seems to have risen.
It’s basically taking around 11 seconds for the Oppo Reno Ace in the clips to rise 1% in charge. It’s an incredible speed, although many have commented that such fast charging will destroy the battery’s life expectancy. With the Oppo Reno Ace only just being released, this remains to be seen – and it’s difficult to resist the lure of being able to fully charge or emergency charge your phone in just minutes.
